Chris Hughton Leaves Newcastle - Charlemagne - 06-12-2010 15:28 It looks like Chris Houghton has been given the push as Newcastle's manager. He left the club at 2pm. The club chairman says that they need someone far more experienced. RE: Chris Houghton Leaves Newcastle - Regenerated - 06-12-2010 15:43 bloody hell... thats a bit of a shocker.. I guess Mike Ashley is getting itchy feet again... RE: Chris Houghton Leaves Newcastle - colino - 06-12-2010 16:08 Simply ridiculous, i've been in whorehouses that were better run than NUFC. The man gets them promoted, then drags an average team halfway up the Premiership table (let's face it no-one expected them to do as well as they have) then gets the sack? Obviously Ashley's had someone else lined up for a while, hence the reluctance to offer Houghton a decent contract. Whoever it is had better type himself up another cv, because if Houghton's record isn't good enough there's no hope for the new guy. RE: Chris Hughton Leaves Newcastle - marco01 - 06-12-2010 16:52 That is disgraceful, what that man has done for Newcastle is nothing short of a miracle, that Ashley is A Pratt. RE: Chris Hughton Leaves Newcastle - m100 - 06-12-2010 16:58 I don't think you'll be able to get a decent price on martin o'neill. Good luck to Houghton because he's done the hard work there and got no reward. He should have at least been given the full season cos there's no way newcastle are going down but he might have sneaked them into the top half with a bit of good fortune. Question though, if it is O'Neill, who (eventually) fell out with Randy Lerner who on the face of it seemed to be a decent bloke, how the hell does he think he'll be able to work with/for Ashley? RE: Chris Hughton Leaves Newcastle - alexfury - 06-12-2010 17:16 Chris Hughton is going 2 be ok he will be at a new club sooner then later RE: Chris Hughton Leaves Newcastle - Charlemagne - 06-12-2010 17:42 Maybe Ashley didn't think that Chris had a suitable body to be in charge at Newcastle. Did he ever take his shirt off on freezing nights? Can he be described as being chubby? They are obviously looking for a more talented manager to take them back to the Championship RE: Chris Hughton Leaves Newcastle - bobek - 06-12-2010 17:57 (06-12-2010 17:16 )alexfury Wrote: Chris Hughton is going 2 be ok he will be at a new club sooner then later He'll do well at a club that gives him a bit of cash and some backing. Let's face it he got a 3rd rate team promoted and would probably have kept them safe this season too. Mike Ashley is nothing more than a Chav with cash. He hasn't got a clue how to run a tap, never mind a football club. RE: Chris Hughton Leaves Newcastle - chimp12 - 06-12-2010 17:57 well it can't be denied that this was coming, yes hughton has done well in gaining promotion but in mike ashley's eyes he was just a experiment that was done to test his effectiveness, sadly for some reason ashley thinks his not the right man, i would personally get martin o neil in order to offer stability, something he done with villa and then builded on that |
