It's my second HP, I bought it to replace a Sony Vaio and frankly I prefer it. RE: help buying laptop - amdixon_1 - 12-01-2009 14:57 You might want to take a look on this website http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/ they have some pretty good offers. RE: help buying laptop - $h!ny h3lm3t - 12-01-2009 16:12 Shall be watching this thread with any hints/tips. Will be in the market myself soon. RE: help buying laptop - datalossfs - 12-01-2009 17:34 Also take a look at http://www.morgancomputers.com I've had a Toshiba laptop for a long time, can't fault the build quality, A mate has Dell but struggled to get some parts for it at some point even though it was a recent model build quality is pretty good though. I've got a MSI gaming laptop and its amazing machine and its light too, I spend most of surfing on my Macbook (White) and had some issues with external case quality after 6 months of use and had to have some parts replaced, my previous ibook went on for years without a problem though. As for the OP I'd not bother with a 17inch screen unless you just plan to lug it around indoors, its a lot of extra weight and the battery life will be poor. I'd also go for a Core 2 Duo if you can budget for it, try looking at some of the Samsung models too as you get a great award winning machine spec for the price. RE: help buying laptop - datalossfs - 12-01-2009 17:35 http://www.novatech.com as well is worth a look RE: help buying laptop - A Spider Monkey - 12-01-2009 20:17 jungleboy Wrote:they have some decent stuff on there, fair play.
