Daily Mail well and truly in the gutter - eagle_si - 01-07-2011 16:15

Britain's nastiest newspaper has sunk to a new low, blaming the tragic accidental death of a 13-year-old girl on the teachers' strike: http://www.geeks.co.uk/news/trending/35815-daily-fail.html. The girl's parents stated that they "did not want it to be connected with any other events" which was very conveniently buried at the bottom of the article. Disgusting journalism, no other way to describe it annoyed
My condolences go to the family, who should now be allowed to grieve in peace.

Even for the DM this is absolutely disgusting, and just look at the worst rated comment...

I hope every striking teacher is hanging their head in shame right now.

People still read that shite?
You'd have to be an idiot to take the Mail seriously.

What do you expect from a paper that employs Kelvin MacKenzie?

'60 pages of scary bullshit.'

Couldn't be more true.

Although no surprise it's not just the Mail, the Telegraph and the "socialist" Daily Mirror have similar headlines

The Daily Mail website is one of the most poorly edited and non-fact checked pieces of crap on the internet.....most of its stories are either progpanada, scaremongering or completely shallow.

If you have an IQ above 5 then avoid that site at all costs

Sorry, I disagree Chimpy. You have to know your targets. By saying avoid the Mail, the Telegraph, The Times it is like burying your head in the sand and let's not forget that the Guardian and the Independent have their own agendas and can be economical with the truth when it suits them.

The Mail, The Express and The Telegraph are the leaders in their fields, actual paper copies sold for their market so obviously there is a market for this kind of journalism and yet funnily teh Gruaniad with one of the smallest circulations has one of the best viewed on line sites.

It always amazes me that those on the right, in favour of deregulation, the market will decide, libertarian principles have to pander to the moral majority.

The market is always right. Sex sells. Show more sex.

Sorry can't that's not moral. Hmmm, about as moral as sending your young sons and daughters to die in pointless foreign adventures or as moral as arming undemocratic regimes with our superior weaponary to keep the citizens in check.

Ah, the moral code, it's a tricky thing. Wink

Well this is the Daily Mail, so those 3 things aren't even mutually exclusive. If you can avoid the temptation to put a fist through your monitor, the comments sections are actually quite entertaining sometimes; although you do feel dirty afterwards.

How dare you besmirch our hallowed media, they are always fair and balanced and never show any sign of self interest.
Having said that, 10 clichéd internet points for anyone who can figure out the Express's subtly hidden agenda... bladewave
