i have been trying to use windows dvd maker but it wont work. i get to the add pictures and video screen and select the vid to copy. i press next and the ready to burn disc screen appears before the maker stops and resets.

NeroVision Express can edit and make good dvd movies and burn dvds.
It is part of the Nero suite that is often given away with new computers or if you buy a new dvd Writer drive.

All depends on if your interests lean more towards editing that can burn to disc or burning that can do simple editing
Me I prefer to use one app to create, one to burn
Being a Adobe fan I'll let you guess where I'd point you Tongue
For more modest needs however Corel's Videostudio is nice and easy to use
For the actual burn though I still prefer to use Nero Burning ROM
