Sad news - I became a big fan of Blockbusters as it used to be on in my region just as I was coming in from work. The line "Can I have a P, please Bob" is as timeless as "Fork handles".I always loved the urban legend that he played the saxophone on Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street" (not true!) but it was true that he played James Bond - but only on the radio!
ps: by coincidence, Challenge are showing an old rerun of "Blockbusters" at 7 pm tonight, ch 125 on Sky, ch 46 on Freeview so we can see the maestro in action. I think it will get a very big audience.

Bob Holness and Blockbusters takes me back to the era when I was just a kid, a great show hosted by a man with great wit and a sense of humour. RIP Bob you will be missed.

He was the first to play James Bond. Blockbusters always had fit girls on, natural in those days too.
