Fears & Phobias - Chat & Discussion - Boomerangutangangbang - 17-01-2012 17:29

Instead of marking a posting milestone in the usual "look how fucking good I am manner" I thought instead of an equally self indulgence thread about a subject that interests me & maybe nobody else.
Some Phobias make sense,thanatophodia-fear of death or taphephobia-being buried alive.Others make little or no sense at all, such as phagophobia-swollowing,an essential bodily function.Share your own fears here & put a name to them, even make up your own name if one doesn't exist.Don't be scared...

I have a phobia about oblique attempts to garner congratulations for pointless 'achievements.' Wink

I am terrified of dogs, of any shape or size! I'm too lazy to look up the real name, but I'll call it dogophobia!

Thunderstorms scare me silly Sad and they are a major source of annoyance too. Can't watch TV due to poor reception, can't listen to radio for the same reason, can't concentrate on anything because an almighty crack of thunder worries me to death annoyed. Extremely irritating annoyed

Daddy Long Legs, one few in my eye when I was younger and I scream like a girl now because the way they fly is fucking awkward, why can't they fuck off.

I am pathetic, I don't even have phobia against spiders or anything, so strange.

I must admit to having a fear of mice, in my previous flat I had a leak coming from one of the pipes in the toliet and this in turn rotted my bloody floorboards underneath, also my outside door had a gap at the bottom and this was a very old building with buggerall insulation which had fields outside as I stayed in a village at the time, I got on to my landlady about it, she did nothing, one morning about 3am I went through to the kitchen and noticed what I thought at the time to be a large spider behind my washing machine but to my horror it was a mouse, I slammed the door shut in utter fear, the next minute I notice another one run across my living room, I was physically shaken, I called pest control immediately but they were unable to come out at such short notice, the next day I bought poison and killed them all off but I left asap. I moved out of that place 2 months later and now I stay in a modern day middle floor apartment in the city which I purchased, built in 2007 with maximum insulation and great interior with no cracks or nichs and I've never looked back since, but the fear of what I witnessed 2 years ago will allways stay with me.
