This is getting beyond the joke now, why is this happening, every single day now we have a newbie join this forum only to disrupte the entire forum by blatantly posting spam but in large volumes. Is there a way that this can be prevented. No doubt about it this must be pissing off the mods to no extent but in saying that this is exactly what the intentions obviously are, the majority of us on this forum are sincere members. Lately the spamming has just got out of control where I have had to cut my visit short until the mods have removed the members in question. Many thanks to all the mods for which is no doubt a thankless task, I'd just like to show my appreciation in their swift actions for getting this forum back on track.

I suspect these spam accounts are all the work of a very small number of people (perhaps even one person). I'm sure the mod team have been thinking of ways to stop them from disrupting the forum. Is it possible to stop new accounts from actually posting until checks are done, or having a captcha at the registration stage?

There have been ten spam accounts banned in the last 24 hours alone, and I can safely predict that most, if not all, of these are spammers too bladewave

I thought you were going on about those new "fantastic member(s) of the forum" who sign, post a few times, hand out a rep or two then disappear again...

Yeah the spammers are annoying as well though Smile

Think the Stevie Website spammer is sending messages about Stevie Louise Ritchie's new website and is doing the same on other website forums too!

The spambot problem was worse this time last year. It only looks worse now because they seem to target the forum when no mods are online.

Far as I can tell most of these nutters start in the Babechannel Noticeboard section.

Could they be googling 'noticeboard' when they're looking for sites to post on? Maybe changing the name of the section would help.

Just a thought.
