BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2012 - Charlemagne - 11-09-2012 06:59

There's still a few months off but what must you have to do to just get on the short list..

Andy Murray has become the 1st man to win a championship in 76 years and won a gold medal.
Bradley Wiggins became the first Brit to win the Tour de France and has also won a gold medal in the olympics.
Mo Farah won two gold medals in the Athletics
Ben Ainslie won his fifth gold medal in succession.
And Sir Chris Hoy who added to his gold medal total in the velodrome.

And there's been various other great performances in the Olympics and Paralympics.

So who will win this year..
Sods Law says it will probably be a footballer, or a jockey that you've never even heard of, or it will be Victoria Pendleton with her 'Strictly Come Dancing' popularity.. Big Grin

While they are all worthy in their own way it would be nice to see a Paralympian win

Personally, I'd like to see Jessica Ennis win. She had to concur a multitude of sporting disciplines to win her gold medal, unlike say, Wiggins or Farrah that only had to contend with one sport (not that I'm taking away from their achievements). Plus, she seems very humble about her success, whereas Wiggins is increasingly getting on my nerves with his mingling with stars, while dressed in his ugly 'mod' cut suits and stupid sideburns. Ennis or Farrah I say. Ennis by a nose.

EDIT: Plus, Ennis is fookin' gorgeous. Hey, wouldn't be much of a babe forum if someone didn't throw in a looks-related comment would it ?

Just need Hamilton to win the Formula one championship and Rory Mcilroy to Win the ryder cup single handed to make it even harder choice

thing is how do u decide who is more worthy than the others its fucking impossible

If I'm honest I don't think she's that good looking, I much prefer myself some Victoria Pendleton or Laura Trott

My money would be on Farrah but I think Wiggins or Ennis are in with a shot.

Id like to see local boy David "Weirwolf" Weir win it, but it will probably be Andy "Boring" Murray laugh

Its a massive call but I think it will file down to the following four:-

Bradley Wiggins
Andy Murray ( Scotland will take over the phone lines)
David Weir
Mo Farah

I think the likes of Jess Ennis, Ellie Simmonds, Rory Mcilroy, Lewis Hamilton( even if he wins the F1 Championship) and Ben Ainslie will just miss out in what will have been the most incredible year ever.
