David Oates 1962 - 2013 RIP - mr williams - 03-02-2013 19:46
The BBC sports commentator David Oates has died suddenly at the age of 50. He started on local radio with the BBC in Manchester in the mid-80s before moving to Radio 5.
His main sports were football and rugby league, and whilst he did mainly radio work he also made the occasional television appearance on Match of the Day and the Football League Show and covered the shooting tournament at the 2012 Olympics.
He leaves a wife and two daughters.

Thanks mr Williams for posting the Radio 5 tribute & I would also echo their sentiments,and my thoughts & prayers go out to his family at this time.
