Standard tactics. One bomb followed by another timed to hit the first responders.

Utter cowards.

It seems that the suspects have connections to the former Soviet district of Chechnia

RE: Explosions in Boston U.S.A - Rammyrascal - 20-04-2013 00:44

think the connections are the two suspect are brothers who are ethnic chechens from Dagestan who have been living in the usa for 10 years now. trying to work out if it's to do with the war between Russia and Chechenia or whethere they have been radicalised to islam

its on sky news right now that the suspect theyre pursuing is either now arrested or has been shot dead. the other suspect was wounded in a gun battle with police and died in hospital the other day

update it's just broken on the news channels the suspect that was still alive is now in custody after a standoff with police

There is no death penalty in Massachusetts so if convicted he could only face the death penalty if he was charged under Federal Law (in 2011 Timothy McVeigh was executed for his part in the Oklahoma bombings under Federal Law, although Oklahoma has the death penalty itself).
