Eric Abidal who played for Barcelona beat it and is now playing again and is captain of Monaco so there is always lots of hope she will.

.This is tragic and terrible news
.Elena gave sterling service to tennis in this country for a long while and was a fantastically determined competitor.
I saw her play a number of times and always appreciated her style of play.
My sincere condolences to her family and all those close to her.
30 is far too young an age to pass away

Former British tennis No 1 Elena Baltacha has died of liver cancer at the age of 30, she was diagnosed with the illness in January, just two months after retiring from tennis and only weeks after she married her long-time coach Nino Severino. Really sad to hear someone die so young R.I.P.

Sad to here the news about Elena. As her agent said, "A true fighter on and off the court"
She was British number one from December 2009 to June 2012 -132 weeks - and she won 11 International Tennis Federation titles.
And she played 39 times for Britain in the Fed Cup from 2003 to 2012 and was also part of Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics.
