good job I haven't renewed my passport yet!! Can't believe that the oppress report there is a backlog, and yet the passport chief was insisting there was no backlog. Add to the they were even thinking of going on strike for one day!!
I might wit now until summer's over and then renew so I don't wait so long. I feel sorry for families who have bee affected by this as quite often it's hard even getting back money for a holiday when you've had to cancel it.

But why not apply now so that it arrives in time for the end of the summer. If you wait to the end of summer and then apply it might be Christmas before you get it as the backlog might be even worse

It was interesting to see on the news this morning that instead of saying how they are going to try to rectify the problem, the passport authorities have said that they want to discipline the worker who leaked the photo of the backlog. Citing national security worries.

The Passport Agency have always been utterly fucking useless. I have no idea why this is such big news.

the main problem is because they were trying to save money because the consulates used to most of the work for british passport holders overseas but they stopped that in cost cutting now will have to pay more for more staff to actually stop the backlog again
