The Women's Rugby World Cup 2014 - Billy_Nomates - 31-07-2014 16:30

The Women's Rugby World Cup start in Paris on 1st August with the final on the 17th August.

All pool matches being staged at France's national rugby centre in Marcoussis. Semi-finals and final at Stade Jean Bouin, home of Stade Francais.

Annoyingly the tournament is only being covered live by Sky Sports and there are no free-to-air highlights. annoyed

The fixtures are listed here:

England & Ireland will meet in the semi-finals, on Wednesday.

Ireland beat New Zealand in their group match, and had a big win against Kazakhstan today, so are looking strong.

The other semi-final is Canada v France.

I've been trying to see highlights of these games somewhere over the internet, but as yet to no avail. Sad

England are the world champions.
They won 21-9 against Canada in the final.

I think they could have made the cup a bit more impressive looking :

Congratulations to England's Women. Smile There are now discussions under way to look into the possibility of the women's game in England turning professional with the introduction of central contracts for the top player's.

Yes congratulations to the team. But Ladies Rugby is hardly a professional spectator sport.
