The time out rule - Snooks - 02-08-2014 20:47
As I understand it the way it stands with calls right now unless using a credit card is that the time out rule (usually 20 mins) kicks in.
So in theory I could ring in, choose the option to speak to the on screen babe, wait 20 minutes, never get to speak to them, get timed out and have to call again.
I could call again but would be put to the back of the queue and face the same possible predicament again.
My own view is that when a caller chooses the option to speak to the on screen babe the time out rule should only be applied to talk time and not time waiting to speak to them. I want a guaranteed decent length dirty chat.
I don't want the odd few minutes here or there.
I often use the full 20 mins if I get through straight away.

I remember Olivia last time she was on stated something about it, I think it was something along the lines of some networks give you less minutes think it was 10?, so possibly mobile network dependent too not sure about landlines

Your suggestion is nonsensical. It would defeat the whole object of the exercise.
You can't be charged more than £25.54 + VAT, which means that calls have to terminate immediately that figure is reached. If only talk time was counted the service would inevitably be in breach of the code of practice and the operator would be liable to statutory sanctions.

If 10 minutes is correct it means the networks in question are charging for calls at £3 a minute.

Well in that case the calls should cost less then
£1.53 p/m is excessive anyway.
I appreciate its all about making money but £1.53 is rather too much.

So, what happens with the cheap rate calls?
Does that mean you would get about 50mins on Bsblue at 60p/min, or do you still get cut off at 20mins?

S66 went through a phase where they had spells of calls at 46p per minute but its now back to £1.53. RLC have little periods they call Go Bananas where its £1 p/m.
BS do reduced rates from mobiles.
But overall it is too expensive Xxxpanded being the overall exception and of course the reduced cost on mobiles on BS.

You should always get cut off when the bill reaches £25.54 + VAT, in order to to comply with PPP regulations, regardless of how many minutes that works out to.
