Manchester dogs Home fire - lovebabes56 - 11-09-2014 22:18

I know it is not news worthy but just thought that you should know about a fire at Manchester Dogs home tonight.

43 dogs perished in the blaze. I do hope most of you will join me in condemning such a twisted act of one or several individuals for this tragedy.

Manchester dogs home deserve al the help they can get with re - homing dogs and blankets. or donations.

Been reading that a 14-year-old boy been arrested on suspicion of arson, really nice to hear of the guys that risked there lives to save some of the dogs and people of town all pulling to help the dogs.

A Just giving page has so far raised nearly £ 325,000 for the home

I know Manchester Dogs Home very well because I live in Greater Manchester and my family has had dogs from there for decades, including our current dog Frankie, a 9yr old cavalier King Charles Spaniel. So when I put the news on and saw the fire, I was absolutely heartbroken. Hope those sick and twisted people that did this (possibly a 15yr old) get the proverbial book thrown at them and their lives are made a living hell

Fantastic to see the people of Manchester rallying round manchester dogs home donating various things including food, blankets bedding etc. offering temporary homes for the dogs that survived the fire whilst the dogs home is rebuilt and a justgiving fundraising page that has raised £325,000 already. Also my ice hockey team that I support, Manchester Phoenix are collecting donations from fans for the dogs home at their home game this Sunday

I definately intend to do something to help. Probably when I get my next box of food for Frankie, I will buy an extra box and take it to the centre or somewhere that is collecting for the dogs home

Let's hope that the money raised ensures that Manchester Dogs Home recover and improve their security they can ensure that this type of tragedy can never happen again to ANY kind of animal shelter. And to think a 14 year old or 15 year old did this, should ensure that he has a lifetime pet ban.

I hope Rammy that I made a good move by making people on this forum aware of this tragedy as soon as I read about it. Let us know how the collection at the game goes on Sunday.

I expect the culprits will be given a social worker and a ps4. Personally I would string the bastards up.
