Don't know if anyone will respond to this but here goes....
As with other games/threads, jus list the book you're currently reading. small reviews or comments welcomed (especialy by me as I always have difficulty picking my next book). Ok so to get the ball rolling....

Hour Game by David Baldacci- Follow up to Split Second, which i've read twice, and a real page turner. Finding it hard to put down as im at the last 150pages an it's gettin real good....

quite a slow start, it took me a while to get into it, about half way through i was really engrossed in it i got right into the swing of things, about three quarters of the way through i dropped it and had to recap a couple of pages. the ending was a little predictable, but definitely not unpleasant .

Excellent review of Hustler there, Chuck. I'll have to see if my local library has a copy I can borrowWink... I'm reading Breakout by Richard Stark (A.K.A. Donald Westlake). It's a typically lean and immaculately plotted, Parker novel. Stark/Westlake was an absolute pro with regards to the novels about low-lifes and petty crooks, maybe even better than Elmore Leonard.

As usual with the Parker novels, it's tightly plotted, well structured, written with spare, muscualr prose and prone to sudden bursts of startling violence. An excellent crime novel and further proof (if it were needed) that Westlake was a master of the genre. I'd recommend it (or any other Westlake) to anyone who enjoys well written, hard-boiled, crime stories.

Just started reading Gravity by Tess Gerritsen. I'm only up to chapter 7 so it's a little early to give an opinion, though the fact that the author felt the need to include a glossary at the back is somewhat disconcerting!
