Heard this news on the radio in the car while driving home, sad loss. His version of "With A Little Help From My Friends" and "Delta Lady" are two songs that I always have on a playlist.

RIP Joe Cocker. Sad

Another of the many musical giants from Sheffield. I hope BBC4 do a tribute on him next year (mind you, I'm still waiting for one on Robert Palmer, and he died 11 years ago)

RIP Sad

I was at this exact gig last year. Awesome singer. RIP Joe.

Joe Cocker was one of the most influential figures of the woodstock movement back in 1969 which led to the slogan, make love, not war. His music touched millions and brought a whole different meaning to the Beatles classic With A Little Help From My Friends. RIP.

RE: RIP Joe Cocker - SOCATOA - 22-12-2014 22:54

Such sad news. Can still remember first time i heard "with a little help from my friends", so good. Lived life to the full. R.I.P. Joe.

I watched Layer Cake only last night. Was so taken with the end title track that I had to look up who was singing that version of 'dont let me be misunderstood'. should have recognised his voice i guess. very unique.

his voice was distinctive, all I can say Heaven has quite a house band up there now from this year
