The actor has died at age of 79.
Most famous for his roles at the grandfather in Outnumbered and taking over the role of Elphais Doge in Harry Potter The Deathly Hallows Part 1.
Most recently he appeared in Troilled and Our Girl.

I remember him best for his roles in the singing detective and inspector Morse where he played a murderous driving instructor, he also starred in the original house of cards trilogy, he was a fine actor RIP

He was bloody excellent. I love the way his family asked for his whole career to be remembered rather than high profile roles - in a news item referring to him being best known for being in a Harry Potter film
