Seriously sad news especially only about 2 weeks after the death of Percy Sledge that Ben E King has died aged 76

Stand By Me along with Sledges When a Man loves a women have to be 2 of the best songs ever writtern. I remember when both were rereleased in teh 1980's when they were both on film sound tracks

As you say, it's uncannily close to Sledge and so we'll get "these things go in threes" until it happens.

Maybe, as with Sledge, people can't name more than 1 of his hits. But when it's such a big hit, it scarcely matters.

Yeah The song is big when you have had 300+ covers of it including from Lennon U2 and Bruce Springsteen

yeah only just read he was one of the founder members of the Drifters

That's two soul legends who both had a renaissance in the eighties dying within weeks of each other, I find that very sad. At least their music will live on and still be enjoyed by fans for many more years, I doubt we will be saying the same about todays so called stars like wand erection fifty years from now. RIP

Just been on CNN that B B King is having hospice care at home dont sound to good
