Luke Cage will be played by actor Mike Colter and will make his debut in the upcoming "Marvel's Jessica Jones" which will premiere later this year.
Deadline is reporting that actress Alfred Woodard is joining the case and will be playing a character called Minetta.

cannot wait for both also iron first. would love Netflix to defenders series with them also introduced to shield creating a darker and grittier version of the avengers. if they can match the quality of daredevil then they are going to be good.

Theo Rossi has joined the cast he will be playing the villain Shades also Rosario Dawson will reprise her character from Daredevil Claire Temple.
