If not, why not? RE: Northampton Town : savethecobblers - aaron - 17-11-2015 12:43 Portsmouth faced the same situation twice in recent years, but we managed to survive the winding up order both times, despite being unable to pay our debts. So all is not necessarily lost, even if they don't raise the money. In fact, and I hope this doesn't sound cynical, but if Northampton were to go out of business the club would almost certainly be re-formed anyway, just as many other clubs have been in recent years after being liquidated, such as Aldershot, Chester, Darlington, Halifax and Maidstone. RE: Northampton Town : savethecobblers - setter1000 - 17-11-2015 15:54 But won't they get relegated or have a 15 point deduction next season if they do? RE: Northampton Town : savethecobblers - aaron - 17-11-2015 22:05 Yes they will. Portsmouth avoided being wound up, but we had to suffer 3 deductions, 9pts, 10pts and 10pts again. RE: Northampton Town : savethecobblers - Joey 27 - 17-11-2015 22:51 We (Luton Town) suffered a -30 point deduction i can't see any team getting punished that badly again RE: Northampton Town : savethecobblers - mikedafc - 18-11-2015 01:21 Northampton Council have launched an administration petition to give club more time to hopefully complete a takeover by ex Oxford United chairman Kelvin Thomas. An administration petition takes priority over a winding up petition so club has until 30th November to complete takeover RE: Northampton Town : savethecobblers - mikedafc - 27-11-2015 18:56 Seems Northampton Council have agreed a deal over its debt which has allowed Kelvin Thomas's group to buy the club. The £10 million will be paid by Northampton town giving up land for redevelopment RE: Northampton Town : savethecobblers - cosmonaut - 10-12-2015 22:04 Bolton are the latest club to be served with a winding up order - and they were in the Premier League as recently as 2012. |
