A brilliant player. Particularly enjoyed him in the 1974 Netherlands total football team which should have won the World Cup but were beaten by a powerful West German side. Too young to die. RIP

Probably for many the most talented and outstanding player of his generation. Holland in 74 and 78 were perhaps the most exciting national team and played football like nobody had played it before. Cryuff with Neesken was one of the most formidable partnerships in international football and some of Cryuff's tricks were simply outstanding. RIP. Still find the twist he did which I think was either in the Quarter final or semi final in 74 still mesmerising.

A true legend of European football.

One of the all time truly great players. RIP

A Pioneer of 'Total Football' that led his clubs and his country to the top of the game. Legend is a word misused sometimes in football - but in his case it was obviously and thoroughly deserved.

RIP. Sad

if anything Ajax dominated Europe in the 70's winning three successive European Cups
