Brian Rix, who has been terminally ill for some time, has finally passed away.
For many, his name won't be one that immediately springs to mind, with much of his best work done on the stage, but he was a true legend. The list of his co-stars throughout his career reads like a who's who of british acting and comedy greats over many decades. At one point he was also the highest paid actor on BBC tv.
He was also president of the charity Mencap and a fierce campaigner for disability rights.

Remember him for that Sunday morning show about the disabled on the BBC in the 80's first time the disabled had there own programming
