Poll Will BS still have a tv channel by the end of 2017??? - jimmyt73 - 04-12-2016 20:27 Simple question to which i would have to say no,but looking forward to seeing which way people vote. RE: Poll Will BS still have a tv channel by the end of 2017??? - jackster100 - 04-12-2016 20:38 what's an all platform tv show RE: Poll Will BS still have a tv channel by the end of 2017??? - HoneyRocks - 04-12-2016 20:43 I would say Yes. But the reality is that the costs for satellite broadcasting, tv or radio are not cheap and continue to be very expensive, terrestrial Freeview even more so. About 5 years ago it was costing around 100,000 a year to keep a radio station I was involved with on SKY, around £25,000 of that was the cost of being on the EPG Programne Guide. For TV Channels the cost EPG would be double or higher. Plus any other transmission and copyright costs. And other Staffing as associated business costs. Internet, streaming and other associated costs. I suspect Babestation, S66 and Xpanded will all still be on air in a years time, but whether they will still turn over the same kind of profit is anyone's guess as running costs will continue to get higher. RE: Poll Will BS still have a tv channel by the end of 2017??? - KerrAvon - 04-12-2016 21:07 Yes, there's still enough of a hardcore of regular punters addicted to the product. If they fall off though, then yes they (any channel really) are in trouble because I can't see them ever attracting enough new punters again, especially as they are rinsing more & more in call/cam charges for less & less. RE: Poll Will BS still have a tv channel by the end of 2017??? - Tractor boy - 04-12-2016 21:10 I think the channels will still be around, but I say that out of hope, more than expectation. RE: Poll Will BS still have a tv channel by the end of 2017??? - eoinindahouze - 04-12-2016 23:19 I would not be surprised if Babestation is history in the next two or three years. Internet porn my friends, Internet porn - thanks to Internet porn, these channels have been suffering for a while now. In the words of Playboy's Scott Flanders "you're now one click away from every sex imaginable for free, and so it's passé at this juncture."[/align] RE: Poll Will BS still have a tv channel by the end of 2017??? - Rammyrascal - 05-12-2016 00:04 yes, but do think in next few years it will eventually go online only RE: Poll Will BS still have a tv channel by the end of 2017??? - ShandyHand - 05-12-2016 00:46 Internet porn was around when these channels began. It has always been an issue for them. These channels have attractions that internet porn does not really address. They are selling various ideas of sex (and sexiness) rather than sex and full on nakedness itself. Also the UK is about to get some of the most censored access to internet porn there is. The restrictions may be easy to get around but guys are lazy and for the moment still prefer their Sky boxes for their babe fix. In any case, unfortunately for some, the general explicitness or lack there of, of a babe show does not seem to be directly reflected in an operator's commercial success. I would argue that it is more a matter of presentation and style, a charisma. BS has lost some of their's and are currently struggling to regain it. They are regrouping. It is too soon to say that it has taken a fatal blow for me as yet. But there's certainly a very important year for BS coming up. ...Besides this is a two part question. Will BS still be around and will the shows in general still need to be on Sky... Even two years ago, the average age of a BBC One viewer was 59 years old! When will this death rattle of the linear TV move the babe channels online? When the expenses outlined so well by HoneyRocks outweigh the need for a 'TV' presence obviously. When that will occur we have no figures on which we are able to judge. By then "online only" wont mean off TV in any way. RE: Poll Will BS still have a tv channel by the end of 2017??? - ryuken - 05-12-2016 00:47 I voted yes, but I think one of BS, XP or S66 will cease to exist on TV in 2020. So most presenters will probably return to being strippers, porn stars, escorts or glamour modelling. I doubt most of the women within the babe channel industry could maintain their glamorous lifestyles on only wishlists, findom, onlyfans, glambidz and snapchat subscriptions from their fans. If someone within the UK industry is really smart like May Contain Girl, they'd set up a monthly subscription webcam and custom video site with high quality production values. Once the channels cease to exist, most of the models will probably do low quality and high cost Skype shows. Then ask their fans to buy them stuff and sell it back to them once the items no longer have any use. At least with that business model they won't have any high cost outgoings and they don't have to share any of their profits, but only a very small percentage of girls with a large paying fanbase could do that. |
