R.I.P John Hampshire - Charlemagne - 01-03-2017 13:27
Former Yorkshire, Derbyshire & England batsman John Hampshire has died at the age of 76 after a long illness.
He was part of the White Rose side that won three successive County Championships between 1966 and 1968 and skippered the team in 1979 and 1980.
Hampshire also became the first England player to score a century on their Test debut at Lord's when he hit 107 against the West Indies in 1969.
He later went on to becoming an umpire and was the current Yorkshire Club president

He was a very fine player and a brilliant umpire too. R.I.P.
