Clem Curtis, the lead singer of the Foundations who had hits with classics Build Me Up Buttercup and Baby, Now That I Found You has died at the age of 76 from cancer.

yeah build me up buttercup is a classic mainly a drunk classic as one of my fave pubs used to play it as last song on a fri and sat night so many drunk nights singing it on the way home staggering

Curtis left before Build Me Up Buttercup. He only did Baby Now That I've Found You with them, of note.
But RIP all the same
