NHS Cyber attack - HannahsPet - 12-05-2017 20:17

40 NHS trusts now been hit with a ransomware attack today.

That what comes from many of them still using Windows XP.

To think we have wasted billions on a computer system that can be brought to its knees by a knobhead with a bit of malicious code in an email

Hope they can sort it out because its the staff and patients will suffer in fact a family friend was supposed to have surgery on monday but the hospital has been affected

you would have thought many would have upgraded the system along time ago

I hope it has left a trail big enough to trace the knobhead

According to a cyber expert I heard earlier it's unlikely it was having old software that caused this. Seems they were all clients of the same IT services company. Spanish businesses have also been hit.

I've heard that most of our air traffic control systems and our nuclear power plants are still running on Windows XP too.

We are still in the dark ages. surprised it hasnt happened a long time before now

Interesting Tweets by Edward snowden apparently this XP exploit was due to NSA code which was stolen in a Hack against them. very interesting saw that the mainly affected areas were russia and china
