His character Lafayette Reynolds was meant to die at the end of season 1 of true blood but his portrayal of the character made the character a poplar one amongst the views so the showrunners kept him in the show.
He was recently in Elementary where he was great as a former gang member turned undercover CI for Watson.

Really in shock that his died especially after seeing his fantastic performance in the last Elementary series. R.I.P.
