Gilbert's three were the pinnacle of a certain kind of Bond movie. Love them or loathe them he had a major hand in creating the national institution that was/is the Moore Bond film.

I much prefer the old style Bond movies and Gilbert directed one of the most iconic and my personal favourite " The spy who loved me".
