Eurovision 2019 - Charlemagne - 08-02-2019 20:42 3 songs, 3 singers the choice is yours. And not a chicken in sight It's nearly a year since last years contest and I still can't figure out how Netta won RE: Eurovision 2019 - GMach1 - 08-02-2019 21:01 If Europe have hated us since the last time we won it in 1997; because of BREXIT they probably hate us even more now. Doesn't matter how you paint it, the UK will NEVER win it again. Why? Because the Great British public pick a great song(and we've had some really good ones over the years) BUT it is a song we like not what Europe will like(with the exception of Australia who now seem rooted in Europe for some reason) and that is our problem. If you look at the crap that has won in the past, a load of Finnish trolls, a woman in a beard etc they seem now to go for novelty stuff (don't even mention our terrible Scooch or Gemini)- the song might be good but I will lay you odds these fools vote for the stupid performances and costumes they wear. Look at last year. We had SuRie and it was a really good song but that idiot who climbed onto the stage didn't help and that I think lost her vital votes, even though it is the song people are voting for not the performance(yeah right!) The whole contest is a load of rubbish now, you can guess which country is going to vote for its neighbour and sooner or later we have to enough is enough of this ritual humiliation and pull out. RE: Eurovision 2019 - GMach1 - 08-02-2019 23:40 Just seen on teletext BBC, that they've chosen an X Factor winner to be our entry-Michael Rice, but never watched that rubbish anyway but I have no idea if the song is any good as I''ve not heard it yet. I am sure it will be played ad nauseum on Radio 2 though right up to May. RE: Eurovision 2019 - Charlemagne - 09-02-2019 12:35 The song was the best option, the singer was the best one. But lets see if the record charts. RE: Eurovision 2019 - skully - 09-02-2019 13:30 It's been pointless for far too long, some great songs from various countries get put forward, but the gimmick filled shitty ones get all the attention. That friggin' chicken clucking one, utterly stupid, no real substance, supposedly a female independence song, but I couldn't see passed the gimmick RE: Eurovision 2019 - Charlemagne - 14-05-2019 19:30 It's a semi finals night tonight. Same old dross, except for Cyprus. The songs rubbish but the singer is great (love her two boots) RE: Eurovision 2019 - cwpussylover - 14-05-2019 19:31 last good thing on this load of shit was the Polish slags with big titties RE: Eurovision 2019 - Charlemagne - 14-05-2019 19:34 ^ Nah. I can never get excited about girls in national costume. RE: Eurovision 2019 - GMach1 - 14-05-2019 19:41 I've heard the song a few times now and it is pretty good, but the thing I say everytime we come round to Eurovision is WILL EUROPE LIKE IT? It's one thing to have a great song that WE like but you also need a song that will travel Europe and liked by them. We have a major history of great songs, groups and singers from this country that are liked or loved around the world, BUT for some reason when it comes to Eurovision we always seem to be also-rans to the amount of crap songs(and don't tell me they don't also vote for the daft costumes and ridiculous dancing in the past!) from Europe and god help us Australia!(and they usually get more votes than us and they aren't even part of Europe!!) what the f are they still doing in this? I wish a lot of luck to Michael Rice because he is going to need it and if we win it I will be very surprised. They hate us in Europe and with the stupid voting(which you can guess which country will vote for their neighbours) we don't stand a chance any more. I think personally we should not only leave the EU but leave Eurovision and avoid being humiliated time after time by people who think a bunch of gothic trolls or russian grannies can make a better tune than the country that gave the world The Beatles and the Spice Girls etc. RE: Eurovision 2019 - Charlemagne - 14-05-2019 19:47 ^Don't forget that Israel isn't in Europe neither. So the shows being presented in Asia. |
