RIP Tommy Smith - HannahsPet - 12-04-2019 19:06 Just seen that the Former Liverpool Captain Tommy Smith has died aged 74 https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/47913937 RE: RIP Tommy Smith - GMach1 - 12-04-2019 19:07 What a player! So sad to hear of this, I think he was the one that Barry Davies once said "look at his face, just look at his face!" I could be wrong but a great player for a great club. RIP Tommie. RE: RIP Tommy Smith - Carl-Gen X - 12-04-2019 19:17 RIP Tommy the Anfield Iron Had the privilege of standing in the Kop watching you play many times in the 1975-76 and 1976-77 seasons. A genuine Liverpudlian who ironically grew up in the Everton district of Liverpool. Never gave less than 100% when wearing the Red shirt. God bless you Tommy RE: RIP Tommy Smith - Tumble_Drier - 12-04-2019 19:19 Proper Footballer. That's all i need to say. RE: RIP Tommy Smith - babefan2012 - 12-04-2019 19:24 RIP. Don't make them like that anymore. What a legend. RE: RIP Tommy Smith - Jack the Nipper - 12-04-2019 20:05 Two of my grandparents died from Dementia which is a cruel & wicked Disease that robs it victim of their memory & has no cure & where long-time friends & family can seem like strangers as the brain deteriorates & so I hope Tommy didn't have to suffer long. Look up 'Football Hardmen' in the dictionary & there will undoubtedly be a picture of the 'Anfield Iron' Tommy Smith who was as tough as they come & took no prisoners on the pitch. Not only that but he could play a bit too scoring in the 1977 European Cup Final against Borussia Monchengladbach & helping Liverpool win a plethora of cups including the FA Cup, 4 League Titles in his 18 years at the club making 638 appearances. Thank you Tommy for being an integral part of making Liverpool one of the most successful & historic clubs.Best wishes to friends & family of the Anfield legend. RIP the 'Anfield Iron' Tommy Smith.YNWA. RE: RIP Tommy Smith - Tractor boy - 12-04-2019 22:17 A proper defender from an era, real tackling was allowed. Today's forwards wouldn't know what hit them. RIP Tommy RE: RIP Tommy Smith - Charlemagne - 13-04-2019 08:14 Tommy was a great defender in his time. R.I.P |
