Best Movie and TV Villains - *Kal-El* - 06-05-2019 19:09

Thought I would start off Hans Gruber from Die Hard played the late Alan Rickman not only a ruthless villain, but also funny and charming and for me one of best movie villains of all time.

Heath Ledger as the Joker in The Dark Knight his role was fantastic he pulled off the character being intelligent but psychotic at the same time and lot of what says in the movie is true. When his telling a different story as to why he got the scars on his face and music in the background with the violins is fucking creepy.

Michael Rosenbaum take on Lex Luthor in Smallville, you really believe his a good guy which he is till his father changes him and as the seasons go on he gets more and more evil till his a full blown villain and even kills his father totally fucked up. But his performance was simple fantastic.

Tom Cavanaugh as Eobard Thawne aka Reverse Flash not only does he play the role so evil but so creepy, with the way he moves, talks and right down to his smile. The fact he kills Barry’s mother but was also his mentor is all sorts of fucked again. Again Cavanaugh performance is fantastic and for me one of best tv villains, all I can say is Season 5 finale lol.

^ Great idea for a thread.Smile

On film one of the best villains in my opinion is Clarence Boddiker from RoboCop(1987).Director Paul Verhoeven, who grew up in occupied Holland based some of the characters physical attributes on Heinrich Himmler but actor Kurtwood Smith played him as more of a revolutionary rather than just a maniacal hood.Adding a macabre sense of humour and intelligence to his cold blooded nature.

Mola Ram from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom(1984)was another great villain.Amrish Puri played him with an old school and truly evil sense of dread.

One of my favourites - Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Terminator as... The Terminator! The tension he gives off every time he's on screen or just about to appear is incredible & is one of his best roles.

Movie villain(in all guises) got to be Ernst Stavro Blofeld from the James Bond films from Donald Pleasance to Christophe Waltz.

Batman's The Joker from Cesar Romero(TV) to Jack Nicholson to Heath Ledger to Jared Leto(film)
Superman's Lex Luthor film mostly.

Not the best film ever made but Ben Gazzara as Brad Wesley in Road House(1989)is a really good vilian. He's like a villian that you'd see in an old Western, tightening his stranglehold on a town using fear, intimidation, corruption and murder. His final comeuppance is very satisfying.Smile
