Life really is too short! - Clit Eastwood - 13-05-2019 09:12

My godson was diagnosed with cancer last year. Had an operation to remove the tumour and given the thumbs up. Three months down the line we learn it's returned with a vengeance. Liver, kidneys, neck, spine etc.
Spends four months having intensive chemo. 16 hour stints to give the best chance.
Remarkably everything goes to plan and tumours have almost gone.
Scheduled operations to remove the remaining tumors.
Unfortunately he complains that he's having sporadic headaches.
Further tests tell us he's now dealing with a brain tumour the size of a 20 pence piece.
Considering he's only in his mid twenties it's a major kick in the nads.
When folks tell you there's always somebody worse off... Poor cunt I say!!!

Hi

Really sad for him, life is hard for some people. If any comfort in 1997 I worked in Jersey and I worked with a guy who had a 18 year old son with cancer and the boy had all sorts of follow on problems. Today the boy is an adult and fully recovered but still has to have regular checks, so bad as it is do not give up hope.

And life is cruel at times

Thats awful to hear. Life really is shit. I sometimes get way down over my own issues and forget my things are nothing compared to your Godson's and others. I hope he beats it.

It certainly weighs heavily on your mind. I'm also in the predicament of looking after my folks. Between the two of them... Heart problems and spinal issues.
Other than that.. No complaints. Surprised

Best wishes to your Godson & I hope he gets to pull through safely.

My father passed away about 5 years ago from Lung Cancer a few months short of his 60th birthday despite him surviving an early Throat Cancer scare 2 years previously before where he had a tumour removed from his throat & successfully underwent Chemo & Radiotherapy treatment. When given the all clear he went for his routine Cancer check-ups but the hospital only routinely checked the area he previously had cancer (his throat) & didn't get to check lower down in other areas.By the time the hospital found he had a tumour in one of his lungs it was too late to be operated on & was terminal. He passed away 4 weeks later. My point is that how often do cancer patients survive a scare only for it to appear somewhere else in the body & is missed completely until it's too late when a routine body scan could pick up things that may have been missed otherwise.
