75th Anniversary of D-Day - GMach1 - 06-06-2019 13:02

Today we commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings, the largest land, air and sea conflict ever seen, when 6th June, 1944 troops from the UK, US, Canada and Australia amongst other countries gathered to fight the Germans, landing in the various beaches of Normandy (code named Sword, Gold, Juno, Utah and Omaha) to try and liberate France. We owe these men(and women) so much for our freedom and it's a debt we can never really repay.

Really good quote from one old soldier. "Don't call me a hero, I'm here, the real heroes are dead!"

This just beat Bieber and Sheeran to No.1
I urge you to listen to this and not feel anything but choked up! It is heart-breaking but done with pride and remembrance of a horror we hope never gets repeated.
