The Rolling Quiz Thread 2020 - GMach1 - 15-01-2020 21:46

Had this idea a while ago and I thought it might be fun to do for the New Year. It is really an idea that used to be on London Broadcasting Company or LBC Radio in the late 80's where the presenter Clive Bull would set a question and then his listeners would ring in to answer. If they answered the question correctly THEY would have to set the next question, OR if no-one answered straightaway it was kept going until someone did...so let's see how this goes.

Q1: Which animal can deliver a kick capable of killing a lion and also attacked singer Johnny Cash leaving him adicted to painkillers?

If you guess it right, YOU have to set the next one. Good Luck. Smile

Remember that in the 1980s he used to keep ostriches so would presume it was an ostrich

Well done mate-now it's your turn to set a question.

Everyone is familiar with the apple logo these days but what was their first idea for their logo?

No idea mate
Here's one to ponder. Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson arrive at a house where upon entering a door whose window had been smashed see a lots of pieces of antiques strewn on the floor. The owner says he disturbed a burglar trying to break into the house and hit him with a metal candlestick. Holmes looks around and sees glass outside on the doorstep and immediately has the man arrested. He deduces it was an inside job but how did he come to that conclusion?

If there had been a real break - in, glass would be on the inside of the house plus if he hit him with a candlestick he probably would have killed him, and there probably was no body on the floor of the said burglar.
^It suddenly occurewd to me as I was doing breakfast that my original answer was probably wromg but having thought about it I suddenly hit upon the right answer so amended it probably just in time!! Smile Not that I would have made a good policeman.

Big Grin yes good man that's the answer. Exactly he smashed the glass from the inside to make it look like a break in but as you said the glass was on the step outside. He also broke up pieces of antiques and strew them across the floor to make it look like a struggle had taken place and the candlestick was electro-plated silver so not heavy enough to have killed him. With no body present he had to be lying. Insurance scam. Well done mate or perhaps I say elementary but of course he never actually said that. Smile
