For me it has to be the one and only Richard Pryor... yeah I know, the crazy fucker set himself on fire trying to get high, but the guy was a genius story teller.
I'm too young to remember this stuff first time around, but this shit never gets old...

it's gotta be richard pryor for me aswell. nowadays frankie boyle, ricky gervais and peter kay are the funniest around.

I actually agree. Especially about Frankie, he's harsh as fuck, but hilarious.
I'd have to say that Dave Chappelle is amazing as well...

In no particular order, I'd say Billy Connolly, Richard Pryor and Bob Monkhouse for the all time crown. Of todays crop? Jeff Green, Dara O'Briain, Michael McIntyre and Frankie Boyle.

from clips i've seen, tommy cooper was hilarious. very tame for nowadays but he had a very funny way about him.

You really do have good taste in comedians man.
Tommy was a legend... so naturally funny.His magic tricks were great too... he was actually very skilled at doing those tricks, but knew it would be funnier to purposely fumble them. Of course, he struggled with an alcohol addiction for the greater part of his life, and was often sweating on stage due to needing a drink.
A very talented entertainer who will be remembered for a long time to come...

i have to say richard pryor 4 me aswell hes so funny its ridiculous when he talks about when he boxed just unbeliveably funny pryor after pretending to get hit in ring "3,4,5 i dnt know why ur countin i aint gettin up , in fact i aint gettin up till they start sweepin up"
