West Indies cricket legend Sir Everton Weekes has passed away at the age of 95.

He played in the Lancashire League in 1949 for Bacup. Where he found the climate very cold.
I notice that is father was an Everton fan and that's where his name came from.

^^ Weekes had a reputation as an attacking batsman, but hit just one six in 81 Test Match innings. Growing up he learned that if you smashed a window in the process of clearing the ropes, you didn't get the ball back, so he learned to keep the ball on the ground.
