Queen has sent a privaste message of condolence and flag has been lowered in Downing Street

Very sad, a true inspiration, he will leave behind an incredible legacy with his achievements will never be forgotten. A proud Yorkshireman, a humble man, one of the good guys.

RIP Captain Sir Tom Moore

I never knew he appeared on blankety blank. Thankfully it didn't make him a false celebrity - instead his true worth was seen through his service to his country in the forces (and obviously including the walk that raised so much, and provided inspiration to so many)

Quite right too! Too often the flag is raised/lowered for the most spurious of reasons - with a govt clambering to follow a 'populist movement'

He was old anyway 100 so it's a good age but think about it this coronavirus is killing off all of these old guys so for that reason it feels different when old people die now i mean you never know he could of lived another 5 to 10 years if it wasn't for the coronavirus.

Anyway RIP legend Sir Captain Tom Moore.
