Hi there. I think I already know the answer to this, but thought I'd check here to confirm. Is the '3G' in regards to the iphone just signify third generation and it can't be used for 3G calls i.e Babestation's 3G service, as there is no front facing camera?
Can you still use it to call the service, but the person the other end can't see you (this would be ideal, as I don't want to scare off the babe
)? The new iphone 3GS can record video, so can I use it to call?Also, as has been plastered all over here and the Babestation girls' sites, the new Babestation App is now available. Anyone tried it out yet?

nope, it was called 3G cos it used the 3G data network. but not for video calling, for internet usage. you can't do video calls on it. same with the 3G(S) as that has no front facing camera. the iphone 3G was actually the 2nd gen version of the phone. The 3G(S) isn't that much different to the current 3G, the differences are the voice control, digital compass and its got some better hardware inside so it runs faster and the better camera with auto focus. to be honest, the geek in me wants the 3G(S) but the sensible part of me says don'#t bother as the one that comes out this time next year will be much better and will most likely do video calls.
I have the app, its not bad for 60p really

Thanks for the reply Shandyman, that explains a lot. So I couldn't even make a 1 way 3G call? Where I could see and hear them, but they couldn't see me? That's a shame.
I'm seriously thinking of getting the 3GS, as you said it'll be out of date in 12 months but it looks sooooo cool
I'll probably get the PAYG version, as it works out cheaper than a contract even at £440 for the hanset 
I'll definitely buy the App too.

nope, well maybe there's a way if you have a jailbroken iphone, but i've not looked at that.
the big geek in me wants a 3G(S). if i got one, had to go for a 32Gb one, which is £500
but if i ditch my 3G on mazuma or ebay, i can get at least £200 so it makes it a bit more bareable, plus means i can get a new contract when the new one comes out next year and sell the 3G(S) one on too.......

3G iphones still make good money on ebay, some go for nearly the cost of a brand new PAYG one (£342) bizarrely. And as you say, the 3GS will probably be worth quite a lot this time next year (as long as the new model doesn't completely blow it out of the water!).
I've only got a small music collection, so 16GB will do me fine
