eBay closes adult section - schvall - 29-08-2021 21:19

On 15 June eBay closed its adult section and, unlike the sale of video games on the platform which has been a hot topic in the media, the move to stop selling adult products passed by without much news coverage. It was no doubt a big blow to some sellers, as there was quite a lot of trade there of vintage porn, but I guess people will find other platforms to use, just as many OnlyFans creators have moved to other platforms recently. But it does leave the question of why now, since eBay has always had adult products for sale since it started 26 years ago. I assume it was under pressure to protect children.

I didn't know they did this that was sneaky by Ebay. I reckon we'll be need a definitive list of online vintage mags stockists to help us out next.
I know of one or two, RAMBOOKS is one.
Next think you know it'll be Amazon shutting down their adult fancy dress section too.

Removing adult content is a trend, Facebook, Instagram, Patreon, Tumblr and now eBay. I don't think eBay ever gave a clear explanation for their new policy, but the move was huge as 800,000 listings had to be removed.

It did seem like a seismic event at the time, but it's not difficult to find places online selling vintage porn magazines and classic porn DVDs, so I'm guessing trade in these things won't be affected that much. By the way, I don't know if it's true or not, but I've heard that the reason for eBay's new policy was them having started a business partnership with Disney about a year before.
