A great striker, and an excellent entertainer. RE: RIP Jimmy Greaves - littlebig - 19-09-2021 11:22 His goal scoring records make him a true football legend RIP jimmy. RE: RIP Jimmy Greaves - HannahsPet - 19-09-2021 11:59 yeah he still holds the most goals in a season record for both Chelsea and Spurs RE: RIP Jimmy Greaves - Spike1876 - 19-09-2021 12:35 Proper Legend... R.I.P. Jimmy Condolences to his family. RE: RIP Jimmy Greaves - Regenerated - 19-09-2021 13:03 RIP Jimmy RE: RIP Jimmy Greaves - Tractor boy - 19-09-2021 13:36 One of the countries greatest ever strikers who had a second career on Saint & Gteavsie with Ian St John when I was a boy. RIP Greavsie RE: RIP Jimmy Greaves - terence - 19-09-2021 15:32 i was in north london with my dad a couple of years ago. some fella came up and genuinely asked my dad for his autograph. apparently his mate told him my da was jimmy greaves. tbf, the resemblance is uncanny. some of my mates still call my dad 'greevsie'. funnily enough, my dad had a few pints with him and pat jennings (my dads childhood friend) back in the sixties. jennings had to take him home because he was drunk af and they had a game the next day! R.I.P RE: RIP Jimmy Greaves - lovebabes56 - 19-09-2021 16:13 ^ I'm sure your Dad will always say he was in a safe pair of hands when drunk!! Hope your Dad is okay by the way mate. RIP Jimmy The same Spurs and England records Jimmy holds are those being chased by Harry Kane. Jimmy was a prolific goal scorer, I think on the way home they were compasring Jimmy with Alan Shearer's record and I think they said Jimmy scored his goals in far fewer games than Shearer. (I may be wrong). It was nice he was finally awarded a World Cup Winners' medal in 2009. His 366 goals was the highest total in Europe's top 5 leagues before Ronaldo eclipsed him in 2017. He also scored 44 goals in 57 appearance for England making Englands fourth highest goal scorers. I loved 'Saint And Greavesie' too. It was injury that kept him out of the World Cup Final in 1966. RIP to a true football legend. RE: RIP Jimmy Greaves - stowman - 19-09-2021 18:15 Another footballer I saw play dies. A brilliant goal scorer and did a good job asa tv presenter too alongside Iain St John. RIP Greavsie |
