ICC T20 Mens World Cup 2021 - Snooks - 14-10-2021 21:33 The tournament starts on Sunday with 2 matches. The 8 top ranked teams advance straight through into the Super 12s Stage, with the initial 4 teams in each group (1 & 2), plus the 4 teams that qualify from round 1 (group A & B), top 2 from each group which consists of 4 teams. All group will play a round robin format. The top 2 teams from Group 1 & 2 will contest the Semi - Finals, 1st place in Group 1 will play 2nd from Group 2, 1st place from Group 2 will play 2nd from Group 1. Winners of each Semi to contest the Final. Both Semi - Finals & Final have a reserve day. All group will play a round robin format.Exactly!! And yet, the ICC seem to find it difficult to add two - yes just two - more nations to the world cup proper?? 4 X 4 groups?? I know matches are longer, but more than one per day - problem solved surely?? May tune in - but have no real enthusiasm other than to see how new nations get on as a bench mark for their longer term inclusion in the sport at world events!!
