He wrote for Tommy Cooper, Morcombe & Wise and the 2 Ronnie's as well as many other of the truly great comics of the Golden age of variety on TV. He was the last one standing of that Era.

Why he was never knighted is beyond me a legend of comedy gone and the last of the golden era of British Comedians so deadpan a great
script writer.
