A great actor and comedian played a great role with Pierce Brosnan in the World is Not Enough & Goldeneye. Won three consecutive BAFTAS for his role in Cracker.

A versatile actor, he'll be missed. But somehow I always remember his hilarious turn as the Christmas ghost in Blackadder's Christmas Carol

I'll always remember him as Samuel Johnson in Blackadder.
And don't forget his most famous role as Hagrid in the Harry Potter film.

I didn't watch much of his stuff but I always liked him. I think he might have started on Friday and Saturday Night Live, which I really liked.
I think he was a welder originally like Billy Connolly or maybe an engineer.
I saw a programme (Channel 4?) where he was pulling an engine out of a car and he looked completely at home in overalls.
