After the pathetically unimaginative thread title
I am left to reflect that you poor souls have inexplicably put up with me for 50,000 posts, 180,000 thanks given and for just under two months shy of 13 years.Has it been a sympathy vote?
A test of endurance?
.Whatever it has been I heartily congratulate you, pity you and sympathize with you in equal measure.
My capacity to post absolute bollocks is as ridiculous as it ever was albeit not to the keyboard exhausting extent of times gone by
.Hopefully at least some of it has made some degree of sense

There is never a day that passes when I am not grateful for all this place has given to me at my lowest ebbs of recent years.
Once the highlight of my sporting year at The Crucible Theatre has reached its end along with my daily score updates and reviews of the action it will be my cue to take a forum break for a while. To recharge, to revitalise, to refocus and to reflect in a way I need to given the trials and tribulations of recent years.
I will return at some unspecified future point. When I feel like it

Each of your posts that I've seen have been so welcome and I've really loved reading them - Your honesty and humour shine through your posts, your one of a kind snooks!! - I'm looking forward to your next forum posts, which I'm hopeful of, because your an inspiration on this forum!

What can I say about this posting legend he is truly one of the most loved forum members on here he comes out with some crazy post's which are funny and witty then you get the straight talking post all business and everyone listens
And finally a true friend on and off the forum the kindness guy I know WELL DONE MATE well deserved

Congrats on your milestone, & I will at least take some comfort in the fact that I'm only almost half as sad a git as yourself.
I imagine that many of us forumites will now find the time to take up various new hobbies & pastimes such as knitting, trainspotting & other stuff that we couldn't fit into our day as we were otherwise engaged in reading your massive posting output, some of which are akin to short stories. Maybe some will pick up an actual book & join Dan who is alone in admitting to doing so, a real throwback from the days when caravans didn't have TV's.
Only a handful have posted more than your 50k, yet none will have posted more words, & in such a unique style. As a written poster we share a commonality, I'll admit it doesn't come easy, so you have my respect. Written posts & especially when in a discussion thread come with their own dangers, as it's so easy to inadvertently offend, when you can pick the wrong word, or get the tone a little askew, I beat myself up over this constantly, & fall foul of it many times. The easy option that many take is to steer clear & not post, which is sad, as having a voice is the whole essence of a forum. Somehow you have managed to avoid controversy, which is a talent I applaud, after 13 years service.
A break is well deserved, as someone who left for a variety of reasons, it was a positive move, & returning was equally positive. I've worked on a 3+ years on 5+ years off, so I'm approaching another break before the year's out.
so you can all breathe a sigh of relief. I would hope that you envisage a much shorter timeframe, but you will know when you're ready.Let this be a warning to anyone else
, years of bashing away at the keyboard, coupled with bashing the bishop 
have clearly taken a toll on Mr Snooks RSI's can be really painful, but a little rest will soon have him back in full working order. The wank buddies will be furious, not only are you PM's turned off, but you're also not going to be here.
