HI guys,.
Just to let you know that having turned 60 a month ago, two weeks ago I did a bowel cancer test through the post for the Bowel Cancer Screening hub in Nottingham. A week later I got letter back to say more tests were needed and an appointment for consultation was set for this morning.
As a result of that consultation a colonoscopy is now to take place on the morning of 21st June. I am hoping that this proves to be normal.

Hope you get the all clear and everything is okay. I was taken to hospital with blood clots in my lungs. But tests proved I have prostrate cancer. That was four years ago and thankfully I'm still here. I'm glad they found it early. It's best to get it checked as soon as you can. Good luck mate. Hope everything turns out okay for you.

Thanks mate & Glad they got it early and hope you're still getting the all clear. The bit I'm not looking forward to having is that camera up my bum ( (I guess IF i can vision Stormi's lovesense being up my bum I might be more comfortable with it!!). But I guess you have to take the rough with the smooth

Procedure went well this morning, started just before 9am, was conscious throughout and by 9:45 was recovering with cup of coffee, biscuits and a ham sandwich!! 3 polyps were removed in total 1 was 17mm, 2 were 1cm. Now I have to wait 10 days for results, and have to have follow up in 3 years' time with a longer prep.

Results show the polyps they removed were Adomenas with low grade Dysplasia.
Next check up in 36 months.
If any of you guys get a letter offering a bowel screening do it. It could be a life saver.
