This was a damning indictment of a decades long cover up that ran through succcessive governments of both parties and at the centre of it all was the NHS.
More than 30,000 were infected with US blood and 3,000 died and deaths are still rising.
It is right that those affected by this are adequately compensated )which I suspected is likely to be around £100,000 per claim), but moreover succcessive Goverments failed to act and the apologies from both Rishi & and Keir Starmer probably are never going to be enough for some I'm sure of that. the compensation process neeeds to be swift as possible.
Then there are those at the centre of it all - the very people who we trust we our health - the doctors & Nurses of thr NHS. Rishi said there are many who should have told the trutth at the time to those affected and never did I would suspect many of those affected and bereaved in many cases - will feel that they should face charges which I would think will take the form of a great many private prosecutions that will probably take a great many years.
But the real culprits are those departments in Whitehall who knew what etc, is where the real culpability lies. And I'm sure the final report's damning indictments has rocked Whitehall to it's very core.
