Wow only just found this out.
Jack Russell, lead Singer of one of the most underrated rock bands of our time, Great White died Aug 7, 2024 of Lower Body Dementia (whatever that is) aged 63. only a month after the diagnosis of the above.
He was something else, he possesed a voice that brought every emotion to a rock song and packed with power & with him at the helm, Great White pretty much could blow most bands off stage (and probably did blow Whitesnake off stage in 1990 or 1991 at Wembley Arena) That night, they packed more energy into 20 minute set that smply stunned me and literally rocked the Arena. After a much publicised split from the original band after the fire tragedy, Jack formed his own version of GW. yet he was still delivering the same straightforward blues/hard edge rock.
I can't believe he has gone but what a legacy & body of music he has left us to enjoy. His death leaves something of a gaping hole in terms of rock singers from that 80's era who I'll never get to see again performing again.
RIP Jack and thank you for the music. Hope you are rocking Heaven in your own imitable style.
