R.I.P Alex Salmond - Snooks - 12-10-2024 16:38

Former First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond has passed away at the age of 69. Whatever individual thoughts on politics my sincerest condolences to family and friends.

During the time my parents lived in Scotland he was their Westminster constituency MP and they found him to be very affable and caring in their correspondence with him.

R.I.P.

It was all very sudden.
Andrew Neil posted that he'd had dinner with Alex a couple weeks ago.
And he'd just given a speech in North Macedonia today.

In recent years I wasn't too fond of what I heard from and about him (very problematic), but, he did do a lot for Scotland, so, R.I.P.

Hi
A great politician, but divisive, looking at the tributes even those on the other side remarked how affable he was and also how capable
One friend mentioned to me ages ago that as a constituancy MP you did not have to be SNP to garner his support and help

RIP Alex

Shocking news, although he's seldom looked like a picture of health. One of Scotland's truer public servants. RIP Sad

A very sudden passing

It appears that Alex had been complaining about pains in his right leg that morning before suffering the heart attack later in the day.

He was always a bit of a pain in the neck TBH. His actions have provided us with a Scotland that has two entrenched groups Pro and anti Independence. Country is weaker than before, cannot balance its own books, has followed the Westminster trait of dodgy politicians.
