R.I.P RE: RIP Gene Hackman and wife Betsy Arakawa - lovebabes56 - 27-02-2025 11:10 Wow that is a hammer blow. Gene was legendary and his body of work is going to stand the test of time for sure. Gene won two Oscars: One for a leading role in the French Lieutenant's Woman and Best supporting Actor in Clint Eastwoods' Unforgiven. That is a huge loss and I extend deepest sympathy to all who knew and worked with him and his family. RIP Gene & Betsy. Could carbon Monoxide be to blame? RE: RIP Gene Hackman and wife Betsy Arakawa - Charlemagne - 27-02-2025 11:40 I loved him in the 1971 film French Connectionwhere he played cop Popeye Doyle. R.I.P. to all 3 of them. Try French Connection RE: RIP Gene Hackman and wife Betsy Arakawa - Doddle - 27-02-2025 13:37 A sad day, but he was in his 90s... a tremendous legacy of great acting performances, whatever the film ![]() RIP ![]() RE: RIP Gene Hackman and wife Betsy Arakawa - Skyline - 27-02-2025 14:58 It is a truly sad loss to such a great talent and man. I remember him in Unforgiven (Directed by Clint Eastwood) and he was absolutely brilliant as the mean villain, similar to The Quick and the Dead, but overall countless memorable performances and a true onscreen icon, he could play both the good guy and the bad guy - absolutely brilliant actor. RIP. RE: RIP Gene Hackman and wife Betsy Arakawa - KerrAvon - 27-02-2025 15:12 The Conversation was one my favorites, he was great in that. French Connection 2 was an underrated sequeal, his cold turkey scenes in that were memorable. RIP to a legend RE: RIP Gene Hackman and wife Betsy Arakawa - Boomerangutangangbang - 27-02-2025 15:52 A very sad end to a great man, but a long life. Always convincing in whatever role,, he tended to steal the show not only as the lead but also as a supporting actor. & looked equally comfortable in comedy. Not all deserve the tag of legend but this man most certainly did. RIP |
